PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are a group of human-made chemicals that have been used in everyday products since the 1940s. You’ll find them in things like:
- Nonstick cookware
 - Water- and stain-resistant fabrics
 - Cosmetics
 - Firefighting foams

Why? Because PFAS are really good at repelling water, oil, and heat. But here’s the problem—they don’t go away.
The Environmental Impact
PFAS don’t break down easily. Once released into the environment during manufacturing or use, they can linger in soil, water, and even air for decades. That means they can end up in our food, our water, and yes—even in our bloodstreams.
The most studied PFAS—PFOA, PFOS, PFHxS, and PFNA—have been linked to serious health concerns, and although PFOA and PFOS have been phased out in the U.S., they’re still being produced in other parts of the world.
Why It Matters in Food Service
If you’re in the food industry, you know your customers care about what they’re consuming—and that includes the packaging. Some food containers, especially those that resist grease and moisture, can contain PFAS. But that’s not how we do things at Earth-To-Go.
Our Commitment
We are actively working to provide PFAS-free product options and are committed to transparency as testing and regulations continue to evolve. Our goal is to offer safe, sustainable, and high-performance alternatives so you can serve food with confidence—and without compromise.
